Music video in Binghamton.

There’s a music video I really want to make in August. It’ll be super awesome if you can help me make this happen! Especially, YOU, band peeps.

If you’re in a indie rock, alternative rock, electro-pop band, then let’s dooo this! Although I already have an idea in mind, we’ll work something out to make the song fit for the video….or rather the video to become fit for the song…

Kissing School - “Your Singing Voice”

Quick update. Kissing School was recently signed to Merrifield Records and it features Gary from The Danvilles. How cool are they for jammin’ out with an extraterrestrial being in a cozy robe in a cozy holiday home? Doesn’t happen that often with musicians, or just anyone for that matter. Hit play and get touched by their extraterrestrial shock.

Okay, it’s sooo tempting to post a video by Footwork. I think I will post it. Yeah, I will. Give me a minute while I go decide which one to put up.

“Bronx Sniper” - Mister Heavenly

One of the few awesome music videos I’ve seen all semester. I totally like the thought put into this video. Clever and oozes brilliance. “Don’t Stop” music video for Foster the People is another eye-fetchiningly great work. Once you see Gabourey (from the movie, “Precious”) you’re gonna get all pumped up…so pumped that your heart might explode. Luckily, I’ve saved myself from such tragedy.

MR HUDSON - “White Lies”

Hopefully, in a next week or two, I’ll be able to whip out my Canon EOS DSLR camera and join the club with the “hipster” kids who have been gloating about their Nikon Coolpix camera. Actually, I’m still debating which DSLR to get: Nikon or Canon? I asked a good amount of people and I got EQUAL amount of pros and cons for either kind! Both Nikon and Canon have been jousting for an assembly of prestigious photographers and the competition has not come to an end. It’s hard to spot faulty points and when you do, the comparison between weak points of either company cancels each other out and therefore, you can’t really decide which is best for you. Get my point? I’m basing my decision on the “who” factor, a lot of the artists I know of use Canon, so I guess canon it is! Can’t wait to do photoshoots for bands!

Recently, I started working with Pro Tools LE, but I still need to get one of my own. It’s like the coolest program ever, I love it. Still learning. As soon as I get my own, I’m going to transfer my work on finale notepad into Pro Tools. Funny thing is, whenever I use Pro Tools, I start craving for goulash. Has this been an outlandish occurrence to any sound engineers/artists out there? ANYWAYS, it’s random, don’t worry about it. What else, OSCAR WILDE’S “Picture of Dorian Gray” was the creepiest thing I’ve ever read! Check this book out and if you’re a little kid, you can get the graphic version of it!
My Formspring Q&A of the week:

If you had to make a music video for ANY song, ANY band. What would you choose?

My answer: I have several in mind actually:
Manafest - “The Chase” or “Avalanche”
Brenn - “Vakate”
We Shot The Moon - “Hope”
Muse - “United States of Eurasia”
My Chemical Romance - “Heaven Help Us”
**Thinking about animating the filmed footage with interpolated rotoscope. I think that’d be awesome.**

In all honesty, it doesn’t matter what band. I just want to make a music video and see my capacity, but perhaps I’ll see my true competency if I work with the smaller bands to see how effective my videos are going to be in promoting the sale of music recordings. OR, it could be just the opposite, maybe we’ll see how I’ll handle such production in a maladroit way. My mind is a hodgepodge of ideas, negative, and positive thoughts, but I will never know my strength if I don’t try it. I’m open to all indie, alternative, pop, rock bands that are in need of promotional aid.

Working on One Republic’s “All The Right Moves” on my cello, editing the guitar part for my song (I’m very indecisive and have been changing the theme of the solo incessantly), and working on a draft for a band’s poster contest, although no pecuniary remuneration is involved upon approval (only two posters are getting picked out of how many hundreds?), but hey…it would be an honor to have my name in the credit line of their new album despite whether or not people pay attention to those things. The thing is, I came across many many many talented young artists this year! Their works are like the best thing I’ve ever seen! You always find a group of people who are just wayyy better than the young artists you’ve seen from previous years. No one is the “best” at anything. Even though this has been circulating in my mind for the past few days, I also have in mind that I really have nothing to lose, so I am putting a lot of effort into this.

Anyways, I gotta go out in an hour or two. Talk later. In the meantime, have fun watching Aphex Twin’s “Donkey Rhubarb.”
